Mixtapes are for lovers...

Nothing says I love you more then a personalized mixtape. Cds are ok but cassettes were/are so much better.
If you truly like/love someone a mixtape can be the perfect gift. Finding the tracks that remind you of that person that you know both of you like. Mixing old and new tracks, songs with meaning, songs that make you smile, songs that tell a story.
Cd's somehow dont have the same feel as the old cassette tape. Nothing better then giving or recieving a tape with the tracks hand written in pen and maybe some sort of squiggle.
So the crew over at turntable Lab are selling usb cassette mixtapes, the same feel a cassette gives but for the modern tech people. Looks and feels extremely close to the real thing. I just got a few for some special people over christmas.

Tron..

Tron the original was great, a legendary movie. The sequal is coming out soon, which is exciting enough as it is, whats also unreal is that (unless you've been under a rock you would know this) Daft Punk is doing the score, that's right, new music from Daft Punk. A little birdie is spreading a rumor that the robots will be touring with the movies release, a world tour playing the music from the music. Pretty exciting stuff.

So this ad for P Rods new shoe has been out for a few months now, dont know why I havent put it up. Great song, great skater and some other great athletes in the clip.



This clip was one I used to watch as a kid on the old 411VM when we were still on VHS. Brings back great memories and I think my friends and I listened to this song more then anything when it came out. Snuff - Arsehole. Awesome.

Mariachi Band

Last time I was in the US with my family we landed in Houston, TX and went straight to our favourite mexican restaurant 'Los Cucos'. As we entered they had a full mariachi band playing and I was amazed by the tunes, mexican traditional music can sound pretty cool.
The Bronx are an awesome rock band from the US. A bit heavier then your normal stuff but great rock'n'roll. They have gone and formed a side project (which involves the whole band) called Mariachi El Bronx. Check out the video for the first single "Cell Mates". Blew my socks off when I first heard it and the price cover "I would die 4 u" is amazing!

I came across these sweet shoes whilst scouring the web. You are paying good money for them but it looks like they would defiantly be worth it. The no lace, loafer boat shoe would be my pick for this summer.

Fruity Summer

I love having summer soundtracks. I've been listening to a lot of rock with blues influences in it lately, southern style rock perhaps? What ever it may be called, I have a feeling this summer will be great! Summers always are.

This song makes me think of driving along the coast line, window down, watching perfect waves roll in along perfect beaches. A great relaxing summer tune.

Fruits Bats - The Ruminant Band

So the "original" denim company has been catching my eye lately. Alot of older styles are being re-produced. Unfortunately they are a bit hard to find in Australia.
Robert Geller, GQ's 2009 Best new menswear designer, has teamed up with Levis to create a collection of golden oldies which will include a rebirth of a pair of Levis from the 60s. The whole collection will be available in US Levis store from the 10th of September. I love the older style, the likes of James Dean, the original cool kids. I would love to get my hands of some of this gear.

500 days of Summer comes out in just under a month in Australia. Looks like a great movie with a killer soundtrack with the likes of The Smiths and The Black Lips.
Defiantly one to go and see.

Dior Homme Hightops

These new Dior Homme wheels are pretty sweet. Not something I would stock at my store but a nice style non-the-less. Black Leather, white lining, you can see the details.
